# Appointment Booking Calendar is Not Showing on My Store [Fixed]

The booking calendar usually starts working right after setup — but sometimes a small configuration, theme, or availability setting can prevent it from appearing on your storefront.

The good news is that these issues are usually very quick to fix 🚀

This guide walks through the most common reasons why the booking calendar (or its **Book Now** button) may not appear, and how to resolve each one step-by-step.

In most cases, the issue is related to one of the following:

* App Embed is disabled
* Service was not saved, turned off, or archived
* You're checking the wrong product page or variant
* Product variants were changed after the service was created
* You're previewing a draft (unpublished) theme
* Custom theme or page builder conflicts
* Availability settings are hiding all dates
* Slots are fully booked or booking limits are reached
* Browser or storefront cache

Let’s go through them one-by-one 👇

---

# **✅ Step 1: Check if App Embed is Enabled**

For the booking calendar to appear on your storefront, the app embed must be enabled inside your Shopify theme. This is the most common cause.

The quickest way to check is right inside the app:

Open the **Hoppy Appointments** app → on the **dashboard/homepage**, find the **App Status** card.

* **Active** → The app embed is enabled ✅
* **Inactive** → Click **Activate** — it takes you straight to your theme editor

To enable it manually instead, go to:

**Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize → App Embeds**

Then:

* Find “**Appointment Bookings**”
* Toggle it ON
* Click **Save**

Tip:
If it was already enabled, try toggling it OFF → Save → ON → Save again, then refresh your storefront.

After this step, the **Book Now** button should appear on the product page connected to your service.

---

# **✅ Step 2: Make Sure the Service is Saved & Active**

Even with the app embed enabled, a service only appears on your store when it is **saved** and **active**.

Open the app → **dashboard/homepage** and check the badge next to your service:

* **Inactive** → Open the **More** menu → **Turn on**
* **Archived** → Open the **More** menu → **Unarchive**, then make sure it’s turned on

Next, open the service and click **Save** — even if you didn’t change anything.

Saving re-syncs the service with your storefront, which fixes most “it was working before” cases.

After saving, a banner appears at the top of the page:

* **“Make sure Appointment Booking App Embed is active”** → Click **Enable App Embed** (see Step 1\)
* **“Confirm Appointment Booking is published successfully”** → Click **Open Store** to check the result

ℹ️ If the **Book Now** button opens a blank or empty popup, the service is usually turned off or archived — this step fixes that too.

---

# **✅ Step 3: Check You're on the Right Product Page & Variant**

The **Book Now** button only appears on the product page that is connected to your service — not on other products.

Open your service → **General** tab → **Booking** card, and confirm which product is selected.

Example:
If your service is connected to “Guitar Lesson” but you're viewing the “Drum Lesson” product page, the button will not appear there.

If the product has **multiple variants**, also try switching between variants on the storefront.

⚠️ Important:

If you edited, deleted, or re-created the product’s variants in Shopify **after** setting up the service, the connection can become outdated.

The fix is simple:

→ Open the service

→ Click on Change

→ Select the correct variants after modifying the product variants

→ Click **Save**

This re-syncs the latest product and variant information with your storefront.

---

# **✅ Step 4: Check on Your Live, Published Theme**

The app embed is checked — and the calendar is displayed — on your **live, published theme** only.

This means:

* Enabling the app embed while editing a **draft or unpublished theme** will not make the calendar appear on your live store
* If you recently **switched to a new theme**, the app embed stays disabled on the new theme until you enable it again (see Step 1\)

Always test on your live storefront:

→ Open your store in a normal browser tab, not only the theme editor preview.

---

# **✅ Step 5: Hard Refresh & Try Incognito**

Sometimes Shopify or your browser temporarily caches storefront assets.

A hard refresh usually fixes this instantly.

### **Windows**

`Ctrl + Shift + R`

### **Mac**

`Cmd + Shift + R`

Also try:

* Opening your store in an **Incognito / Private window**
* Testing in a different browser or on your phone

This confirms whether the issue is just cached content.

---

# **✅ Step 6: Using a Custom Theme or Page Builder?**

Most Shopify themes work with Hoppy Appointments out of the box — the app automatically replaces the **Add to Cart** button with a **Book Now** button on bookable product pages.

However, heavily customized themes or themes built with page builders may use non-standard product forms, which the app can’t always detect.

In that case, place the calendar manually:

Open **Shopify Theme Editor → Navigate to the desired page → Add Block → Apps → Appointment Calendar**

Then:

* Paste your **Service ID**
  → Find it at the top of the service edit page, or via **My services → More → Copy Service ID**
* Choose the **Embedding Mode**:
  * **Modal** → Shows a booking card that opens the calendar in a popup
  * **Direct** → Embeds the full calendar directly on the page
* Save the theme

The block also tells you when something is wrong:

* **“App Embed Not Enabled”** → Go back to Step 1 — the app embed is required even for manual placement
* **“Appointment service configuration not found”** → Double-check the Service ID you pasted

💡 Alternative: enable the **Floating Action Button** inside your service (**General tab → Enable floating button**) to show a floating **Book Now** button on all store pages. Remember to **Save** the service afterward.

# **✅ Step 7: Calendar Opens but No Dates/Times? Check Availability**

If the popup opens but customers can’t select any dates, your availability settings are usually the reason.

Open your service → **Availability** tab and check the following:

* **Working days are toggled ON** with valid start and end times
* **Date-range availability** → If you set specific dates and they are now in the past, no dates will ever appear. Add a new, current date range
* **Minimum scheduling notice** → A large value (e.g. 48 hours) removes today and tomorrow from the calendar. The default is 1 hour
* **Look ahead** → Controls how far ahead customers can book. A short value (e.g. 2–3 days) makes the calendar look almost empty
* **Break times** → Make sure they don’t cover your entire working hours
* **Blocked dates** → Remove any dates that shouldn’t be blocked

Example:
If your **Look ahead** is set to 2 days and your **Minimum scheduling notice** is 48 hours, customers may see no bookable dates at all.

After adjusting, click **Save** and refresh your storefront — dates should become selectable.

---

# **✅ Step 8: Check Timezone Settings**

A wrong timezone can shift your time slots — or make it look like nothing is available at the times you expect.

Open your service → **Availability** tab → **Timezone & hour format** card:

* Confirm your **Timezone** is correct
* **Lock timezone** → When enabled, all customers see times in your timezone, no matter where they are
* **Show timezone selector** → Lets customers switch to their own timezone

💡 If customers in other countries report “missing” times, they are probably seeing your schedule converted to their local timezone.

---

# **✅ Step 9: Check if Slots are Fully Booked or Limits are Reached**

Sometimes the calendar is working correctly — the slots are simply taken.

Check the following:

* **Maximum bookings per time slot** → The default is 1, so a slot disappears as soon as someone books it. Increase it for group classes or sessions
* **Maximum bookings per day** → When reached, the whole day becomes unavailable
* **Existing bookings** → Open the **Bookings** page to see which slots are already taken

Using **Availability per teammate** mode?

If no teammates are assigned to the service, no slots will be generated at all:

→ **Availability tab → Assign teammates to this service**, or switch back to **Availability per service**

💡 Want fully booked days to stay visible?

Enable the **Waitlist** in the **Payment** tab, then turn on **Show waitlist when a slot is fully booked** — customers will see a **“Join waitlist”** option instead of an empty calendar.

---

# **⚠️ Good to Know**

* The preview inside the service setup page is approximate — always trust the calendar on your **live product page**
* The **Appointment Calendar** app block also requires the app embed from Step 1
* Each product or variant can only be connected to **one active service** at a time

---

# **Still Not Showing?**

If you’ve tried all the steps above and the booking calendar is still not visible:

1. Re-save the service
2. Confirm **App Status** shows **Active**
3. Test on the live product page (not the theme preview)
4. Test in an Incognito window

If the issue still continues, feel free to contact us directly from inside the Hoppy Appointments app.

To help us troubleshoot faster, please include:

* Your store URL
* The product page URL where the calendar should appear
* Your **Service ID** (My services → More → Copy Service ID)
* Your theme name
* A screenshot of the **App Status** card

We’ll be happy to help 🙌
