Once configured, the banner appears on your storefront and allows visitors to accept, decline, or manage cookie preferences based on the behavior settings you choose. This guide walks through the complete setup process, from enabling the app embed to customizing the banner's appearance and content. --- # **โš ๏ธ Before You Begin** Before setting up your Cookie Consent Banner, make sure: * GDPR EU Cookie Banner is installed * You have access to your Shopify Admin * You have permission to edit your Shopify theme โš ๏ธ The Cookie Banner will not appear until the App Embed is enabled. --- # **โœ… Step 1: Enable the App Embed** For the Cookie Consent Banner to appear on your storefront, the App Embed must be enabled inside your Shopify theme. Go to: **Shopify Admin โ†’ Sales Channels โ†’ Online Store โ†’ Themes โ†’ Edit Theme โ†’ App Embeds** Then: * Locate **Cookie PopUp/Banner** * Toggle it **ON** * Click **Save** ๐Ÿ’ก You can also use the **Turn On** option inside the app, which opens the Shopify Theme Editor directly. --- # **โœ… Step 2: Open Banner Settings** Open the **GDPR EU Cookie Banner** app from your Shopify Admin. The setup is organized into the following sections: * Region * Behavior * Design * Content * Checkout A live preview is available throughout the setup process to help you visualize changes before saving. --- # **โœ… Step 3: Configure Region Settings** Open the **Region** tab. This section determines where the Cookie Banner will appear. Select the privacy regulations or regions that apply to your store. Examples include: * GDPR * CCPA * LGPD * PIPEDA * APPI ๐Ÿ’ก If your store serves multiple regions, you can enable more than one region at the same time. --- ## **Edit Region Coverage** Each region can be customized individually. This may be useful in specific compliance scenarios. --- ### **Informative** Displays informational content without requiring visitor interaction. --- ## **๐Ÿšซ Decline Behavior** This setting appears only when: * Accept / Decline * Decline Only is selected as the Banner Type. ### **Deny All Cookies** Blocks all non-essential cookies when visitors decline. --- ### **Do Nothing** Closes the banner without modifying cookie behavior. --- ## **๐Ÿ“„ Privacy Policy Link** Display a privacy policy link directly inside the Cookie Banner.
