With BYOB, your customers can: * ๐Ÿงบ Pick products from the collections or products you allow * ๐ŸŽฏ Meet selection rules you define (e.g. "pick at least 3 items") * ๐Ÿ’ธ Unlock a discount once their bundle qualifies * ๐Ÿ›’ Add the whole bundle to cart in one click The bundle appears as its own product page on your storefront, with a live bundle builder your customers can interact with โœจ --- # **๐Ÿง  How BYOB Works (Quick Overview)** When you save a BYOB offer, Hoppy Bundles automatically does two things for you: 1. **Creates a Shopify product** for the bundle (using the Product URL, Title, Price, Description and Image you provide) 2. **Creates a Shopify automatic discount** that applies your configured discount when the customer's bundle qualifies Customers then visit that product page, build their bundle, and check out โ€” the discount applies automatically when your rules are met ๐ŸŽ‰ --- # **โœ… Before You Begin** Before starting the setup, make sure you have: * ๐Ÿ“ฆ The **products or collections** you want customers to pick from, already created in Shopify * ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ A **banner image** for the bundle page (PNG, JPG or GIF, up to 5MB) โ€” this is required * ๐Ÿงฎ A rough idea of your **selection rules** (how many items customers must pick, and from where) * ๐Ÿ’ฐ A rough idea of your **discount** (optional โ€” BYOB works without a discount too) ๐Ÿ’ก Planning your rules first makes the setup much faster โ€” the whole flow only takes a few minutes once you know what you want โš™๏ธ --- # **๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step 1 โ€” Create a New BYOB Offer** Open the **Hoppy Bundles** app and go to the offer creation page. On the **Select Offer Type** screen, find the card: **BYOB (Build Your Own Bundle)** โ†’ *"Let customers build their own bundle"* Then: โ†’ Click **Create BYOB** to open the BYOB setup page. Once selected, the setup page opens automatically with a **live preview** on the right side โ€” every change you make updates the preview in real time ๐Ÿ‘€ --- # **๐Ÿ“ Step 2 โ€” Configure Bundle Info (General Tab)** You'll first land inside the **General** tab. The **Bundle Info** section controls what customers see on the bundle page. --- ## **๐Ÿ”— Product URL** This is the URL handle of the Shopify product that Hoppy Bundles creates for your bundle. * Only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens are allowed * Example: `build-your-bundle` โ†’ your bundle page becomes `/products/build-your-bundle` ๐Ÿ’ก Choose a short, memorable handle โ€” customers can visit this URL directly, and you can link to it from menus, emails or ads. --- ## **๐Ÿงฉ Template** This setting controls the layout of the bundle builder on the page. There are 2 available templates: * **Shelf Pick** โ†’ Customers browse products and "pick from the shelf", with a sticky bar tracking how many items they still need * **Split Select** โ†’ A split layout with the bundle image on one side and the product selection on the other Switch between them and check the **live preview** to see which one fits your store best โœจ --- ## **๐Ÿท๏ธ Title** The main heading customers see on the bundle page. ### **Example** * Build Your Own Bundle * Create Your Snack Box * Mix & Match Your Skincare Set --- ## **๐Ÿ“Œ Sticky Bar Text** This text appears in the sticky bar that tracks the customer's progress while they pick products. You can use the dynamic variable: `{target}` โ†’ automatically replaced with the total number of items the customer needs to select ### **Example** "Need at least {target} from this group" โ„น๏ธ By using `{target}`, the message stays correct even if you change your selection rules later. --- ## **๐Ÿ”˜ Button Texts** Two button labels can be customised: * **Button Text** โ†’ The main call-to-action button (default: *"Add Bundle to Cart"*) * **Product Card Button Text** โ†’ The small button on each product card (default: *"Add"*) --- ## **๐Ÿ’ฐ Price** Sets the base price of the Shopify product created for this bundle. You can enter: * A **fixed price** โ†’ e.g. `5000` * A **price range** โ†’ e.g. `3000-5000` โ„น๏ธ The actual amount customers pay is calculated from the products they pick plus your discount โ€” this field is the price shown on the bundle product itself. When a range is entered, the first value is used as the product price. --- ## **๐Ÿ“ Description** A rich text description for the bundle page. Use it to explain the offer to customers. ### **Example** "Pick any 3 products from our bestsellers and get 20% off your bundle\! ๐ŸŽ" --- ## **๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Media (Required)** Upload the main image shown on the bundle page. * Click the upload area or drag & drop an image * Supported formats: **PNG, JPG, GIF up to 5MB** * Use **Change** or **Remove** to replace an existing image โš ๏ธ **Important**: The bundle image is **required**. You won't be able to save the offer without uploading one. --- # **๐ŸŽฏ Step 3 โ€” Set Up Product Selection Logic** Now move to the **Product Selection Logic** tab. This is the heart of BYOB โค๏ธ โ€” here you define **what customers must pick** for their bundle to qualify. --- ## **๐Ÿ“ฆ Bundle Conditions** Each condition defines one selection rule: **Select โ†’ At least โ†’ \[Quantity\] โ†’ From โ†’ \[Collection or Products\]** ### **Example** * At least **3** from collection **"Bestsellers"** * At least **2** from products **"T-Shirt A, T-Shirt B, T-Shirt C"** A customer must satisfy **all conditions** before they can add the bundle to cart. --- ## **๐Ÿ›’ Choosing Products or Collections** For each condition: 1. Set the **Quantity** customers must pick 2. Choose **From โ†’ Collection** or **From โ†’ Product** 3. Click **Select Collections** or **Select Products** to open the Shopify picker 4. Pick one or more items โ€” they appear as removable tags below the button โš ๏ธ **Important**: Every condition must have at least one collection or product selected โ€” otherwise the offer cannot be saved. โ„น๏ธ Switching between **Collection** and **Product** clears the current selection for that condition, so pick your type first. --- ## **๐Ÿ”ข Product Display Order** When using a **Collection**, products appear in the collection's sort order. โ„น๏ธ You can change the display order in **Shopify Admin โ†’ Products โ†’ Collections โ†’ \[Your Collection\] โ†’ Products โ†’ Sort by**. --- ## **๐Ÿ” Add Filters (Optional)** Enable **Add filters** on a condition to fine-tune which products customers see: * **Show Tags (comma separated)** โ†’ Only show products with these tags * **Hide Tags (comma separated)** โ†’ Hide products with these tags ### **Example Use Cases** * Show only products tagged `bundle-eligible` * Hide products tagged `sold-out` or `excluded` --- ## **โž• Adding More Conditions** Click **\+ Add more conditions** to create additional selection rules. ### **Example** * Condition 1 โ†’ At least 2 from collection **"Shirts"** * Condition 2 โ†’ At least 1 from collection **"Accessories"** This forces customers to build a mixed bundle across both groups ๐ŸŽฝ๐Ÿงข โ„น๏ธ The delete icon on a condition only appears when you have more than one condition โ€” at least one condition is always required. --- # **๐Ÿ’ธ Step 4 โ€” Configure the Discount (Optional)** Back in the **General** tab, scroll to the **Discount** section. If you don't want any discount, leave the **Type** as **No Discount** and skip to the next step โ€” BYOB works perfectly fine without one. --- ## **๐Ÿท๏ธ Discount Type** There are 5 available options: | Discount Type | Description | | ----- | ----- | | No Discount | Bundle builder only, no discount | | % Discount | Percentage off (e.g. 25% off) | | Flat Discount | Fixed amount off the bundle (e.g. โ‚น500 off) | | On Each Unit Flat Discount | Fixed amount off **per item** (e.g. โ‚น50 off each) | | Specific Price | Set an exact final price for the bundle | Once you pick any type other than **No Discount**, a **Discount value** field appears โ€” enter the number there. --- ## **โš–๏ธ Discount Based On** โ„น๏ธ This section only appears when a discount type is selected. It controls **when** the discount becomes active. --- ### **๐Ÿ’ฐ Cart Total Amount** The discount applies once the total value of the items in the bundle reaches a minimum amount. Set the threshold in the **Minimum cart value** field. ### **Example** * Bundle total reaches โ‚น3000 โ†’ 10% OFF applies โš ๏ธ **Please note**: Cart value is always evaluated **before** any discounts are applied. The minimum cart value check does not consider order-level discounts (e.g. a percentage off the whole cart). --- ### **๐Ÿ›’ Product Quantity** The discount applies once the customer has picked a minimum number of items. * Set the threshold in the **Minimum quantity** field * Optionally enable **Count only unique products** so repeated quantities of the same product don't count ### **Example with Count Only Unique Products** * Product A ร— 3 โ†’ counted as **1** product * Product A \+ Product B โ†’ counted as **2** products This is useful when you want customers to explore different products instead of stacking the same one ๐Ÿ›๏ธ --- # **๐Ÿ”„ Step 5 โ€” Discount Combinations** Below the Discount section, the **Enable Discount Combination** card controls whether your BYOB discount stacks with other discounts at checkout. * **Order discounts** โ†’ Allow combining with order-level discounts * **Shipping discounts** โ†’ Allow combining with shipping discounts โ„น๏ธ BYOB discounts always combine with other product discounts by default. --- # **๐ŸŽจ Step 6 โ€” Design, Translation & Extras (Optional)** These sections are fully optional during setup โ€” the defaults look great out of the box โœจ * **Design tab** โ†’ Customise fonts, colours, typography and button styles of the bundle builder. See the dedicated Design & Styling doc for details. * **Translation** โ†’ Translate bundle texts into your store's other languages. * **Multiple Markets** โ†’ Adjust the offer for specific markets. * **Custom Note Options** โ†’ Enable **Add note field** to show customers a pop-up for a custom note after they add the bundle to cart ๐Ÿ—’๏ธ --- # **โœ… Step 7 โ€” Save & Publish** Once everything is configured: 1. Click **Save** in the save bar at the bottom 2. Click **Publish** in the top-right corner โš ๏ธ **Important**: A new BYOB offer is always saved as a **Draft** first. The **Publish** button becomes available only after the first save. When you hit **Save**, Hoppy Bundles automatically: * ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Creates (or updates) the Shopify product for your bundle โ€” visible in **Shopify Admin โ†’ Products** * ๐Ÿ’ธ Creates the automatic discount โ€” visible in **Shopify Admin โ†’ Discounts** When you hit **Publish**, the bundle product goes **Active** and the discount turns **on** โ€” your BYOB page is now live ๐Ÿš€ ๐Ÿ’ก You can **Unpublish** at any time to take the bundle offline without deleting it, and use **Duplicate** to clone an existing BYOB offer as a starting point for a new one. --- # **โš ๏ธ Important Notes** * ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ **Media image is required** โ€” saving fails without it * ๐ŸŽฏ **Every condition needs a selection** โ€” at least one collection or product per condition * ๐Ÿงบ **Customers must satisfy all conditions** before the Add Bundle to Cart button activates * ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ **Deleting a BYOB offer also deletes** its linked Shopify product, discount and uploaded image โ€” this cannot be undone * ๐Ÿ”— Don't manually delete the auto-created bundle product in Shopify Admin unless you're removing the offer โ€” Hoppy Bundles recreates it on the next save if it's missing --- # **๐ŸŽ‰ Final Result** Once published successfully: โœ… Customers get a dedicated bundle page on your storefront โœ… They pick products based on your rules with live progress tracking โœ… The discount applies automatically once the bundle qualifies โœ… The whole bundle is added to cart in one click โœ… Average Order Value improves as customers build bigger bundles โœจ A well-configured BYOB offer turns shopping into an interactive experience โ€” customers love building their own combos ๐Ÿš€
