# 🚀 How to setup Quantity Break

Want to reward customers for buying more of the same product? 🛍️

That’s exactly what the **Quantity Break** offer in Hoppy Bundles is designed for.

With this offer type, you can create quantity-based discount tiers such as:

* 🛒 Buy 1 → Standard Price
* 💸 Buy 2 → 10% OFF
* 💰 Buy 3 → 20% OFF

—and display them as a neat, clickable widget directly on your product page.

Customers simply pick the quantity tier they like, and the discount is applied automatically at checkout ✨

---

# **📍 Where the Quantity Break Widget Appears**

The Quantity Break widget appears on your **Product Page**, right below the Add to Cart button (default placement).

You can also place it anywhere else on the product page using the **Custom placement** option (covered later in this guide).

ℹ️ The same setup screen is also used for **BOGO (Buy One Get One)** and **Buy X Get Y** offers — those are simply Quantity Break offers pre-filled with BOGO-style tiers.

---

# **🛠️ Example Setup Used in This Documentation**

In this documentation, we’ll configure the following tier structure:

* 🛒 1 Pair → Standard Price (No Discount)
* 💸 2 Pair → 10% OFF
* 💰 3 Pair → 20% OFF

The offer will be applied to **specific products** and displayed in the **Vertical layout**.

This guide explains each setting you’ll touch during setup, so you know exactly how every option behaves ⚙️

---

# **✅ Before You Begin — Enable the App Embed**

For the Quantity Break widget to appear on your storefront, the app embed must be enabled inside your Shopify theme.

Go to:

**Shopify Admin → Sales Channels → Online Store → Themes → Customize → App Embeds**

Then:

* Find **Bundles App Embed**
* Toggle it ON
* Click Save

⚠️ **Important**: Without the app embed enabled, your published offer will not be visible on the storefront — even if everything inside the app is configured correctly.

---

# **🎯 Step 1 — Create a New Quantity Break Offer**

Open the **Hoppy Bundles** app from your Shopify Admin.

Then:

→ Click **Create New Offer** to open the offer type selection page.

→ Select **Quantity Break (One product)** and click **Create a Quantity Break**.

ℹ️ The **BOGO** and **Buy X Get Y** cards on this page also open the Quantity Break setup — they just pre-fill your tiers with BOGO-style offers (e.g. “Buy 2 Get 1”), so you can start from those if that’s the deal you want to run.

---

# **🧩 Step 2 — Name Your Offer & Choose Where It Applies**

The first screen asks for the basics before anything else.

---

## **🏷️ Offer Name**

This field is used for internal purposes only.

Customers will never see this name.

You can use any recognizable name such as:

* Summer Sneaker Sale
* T-Shirt Volume Deal
* Black Friday Tiers

💡 Using proper internal naming makes it easier to identify setups later, especially if your store runs multiple offers.

---

## **📦 Apply Offer On**

This setting controls which products the Quantity Break widget and discounts apply to.

There are 3 available options:

* **All Products** → the offer applies to every product in your store
* **Product** → the offer applies only to the products you select
* **Collection** → the offer applies to every product inside the collections you select

If you choose **Product** or **Collection**, a **Select Product** / **Select Collection** button appears. Click it to open your Shopify resource picker and choose one or more items.

⚠️ **Important**:

* Switching between **All Products**, **Product**, and **Collection** clears your current selection — pick the right mode first, then select your items.
* Only **one published offer is allowed per product or collection**. If another published offer already covers the same product, you won’t be able to publish this one until the existing offer is converted back to a draft.

---

# **🎨 Step 3 — Pick a Template**

Scroll down to the **Select Your Preferred Offer** section.

Here you’ll find ready-made templates you can swipe through:

* **Build one from scratch** → start with a clean, minimal layout
* **Bundle & Save** → the classic green multi-tier look
* **Limited Time Offer** → orange, urgency-themed
* **Flash Sale Madness\!** → pink, sale-themed
* **YAY\! It’s BOGO** → violet, pre-filled with Buy X Get Y style tiers

Click on a template to select it, then hit **Apply selected template**.

ℹ️ The **Apply selected template** button stays disabled until you’ve selected at least one product or collection (when using the **Product** or **Collection** mode).

Once applied, the full setup editor opens — with a live preview of your widget on the right side of the screen 👀

---

# **⚙️ Step 4 — Configure Your Offers (General Tab)**

The editor is organized into 3 tabs:

* **General** → offer content, discounts, and behavior
* **Design** → fonts, colors, and borders
* **Targeting & Placement** → who sees the offer and where it appears

This guide focuses on the settings you need to get the offer live. Let’s go through the **General** tab section by section.

---

## **✏️ Offer Name & Selected Offer**

At the top of the General tab you can see your **Offer Name** and the **Selected Offer** (the template you picked).

Click the **pencil icon** next to the offer name to rename it anytime.

💡 This name is only visible to you — for your own internal reference.

---

## **📐 Template Layout**

Choose how your quantity tiers are arranged inside the widget:

* **Vertical** → tiers stacked on top of each other (best for most product pages)
* **Horizontal** → tiers side by side

ℹ️ When **Vertical** is selected, an extra **Choose a theme** option appears, letting you quickly switch between the **Blue**, **Red**, and **Green** color themes.

💡 Picking the **Red** theme also unlocks an extra **Offer Subtitle** field inside each offer tier (more on that below).

---

## **🎁 Edit Offer — Your Discount Tiers**

This is the heart of the setup ❤️

Each quantity tier lives on its own tab (**Offer 1**, **Offer 2**, **Offer 3**…). Click a tab to edit that tier.

For our example setup:

* **Offer 1** → Quantity `1`, Discount type `No Discount`
* **Offer 2** → Quantity `2`, Discount type `% Discount`, Discount `10`
* **Offer 3** → Quantity `3`, Discount type `% Discount`, Discount `20`

---

### **💸 Discount Type**

This dropdown controls what kind of deal the tier offers:

| Discount Type | What it does |
| ----- | ----- |
| No Discount | Standard price — useful as a “Buy 1” baseline tier |
| % Discount (e.g. 25% off) | Percentage off the tier total |
| Flat discount (e.g. $29.00 off) | Fixed amount off the tier total |
| On each unit flat discount | Fixed amount off **each unit** in the tier |
| Specific Price (e.g. $29.00) | Customers pay exactly this price for the tier |
| BOGO (Buy One Get One) | Buy X items, get Y items of the same product free |
| Buy X Get Y Free | Buy X items, get a **different product** discounted/free |

Depending on the discount type, extra fields appear automatically:

* **% / Flat / Per-unit / Specific Price** → a **Discount** input field for the value
* **BOGO** → **Buy** and **Get** fields (Buy is locked to the tier quantity)
* **Buy X Get Y Free** → **Buy** and **Get** fields, plus a **Select Y Product** button to choose which product the customer gets

⚠️ **Please note**: For **Buy X Get Y Free**, make sure you actually select a “Y” product — without one, the tier has nothing to give away.

---

### **🔢 Quantity**

The number of items the customer must buy to unlock this tier.

⚠️ Quantity must be greater than 0 — you’ll see an inline error if it isn’t.

ℹ️ For **BOGO** and **Buy X Get Y** tiers, the **Buy** condition automatically follows this quantity.

---

### **🏷️ Offer Title**

The main text shown on the tier, e.g.:

* 1 Pair
* 2 Pair
* 3 Pair

---

### **🏷️ Discount Label & Tag**

Each tier has two optional text decorations:

* **Discount Label** → the deal text shown on the tier, e.g. “10% OFF”
* **Tag** → a small badge, e.g. “Most Popular”

Both fields have an **eye icon** 👁️ on the right side — click it to show or hide that element on the storefront.

💡 Adding a “Most Popular” tag to your middle tier is a simple way to nudge customers toward it.

---

### **🎁 Free Gift**

Tick the **Free gift** checkbox if you want customers choosing this tier to also receive a gift product.

Once enabled, a **Select Products** button appears so you can pick the gift product(s) from your store.

ℹ️ Unticking **Free gift** clears the selected gift products for that tier.

---

### **📝 Offer Subtitle (Red Theme Only)**

ℹ️ This field only appears when the **Red** theme is selected in **Template Layout → Choose a theme**.

It adds a small subtitle line inside each tier, and also has an eye icon to toggle visibility.

---

### **➕ Add / 🗑️ Delete Tiers**

Below the offer tabs you’ll find:

* **Add Offer** → adds a new tier tab (maximum **6 tiers**)
* **Delete** → removes the currently selected tier (minimum **2 tiers** required)

If you hit one of these limits, a small toast message will let you know.

---

## **📰 Block Title & Footer Text**

These control the text above and below the widget:

* **Block Title** → e.g. “Bundle & Save” or “Limited Time Offer”
* **Footer Text** → e.g. “Free Shipping”

Both fields come with an **eye icon** to hide them completely if you prefer a cleaner look.

---

# **🛠️ Step 5 — Configure Settings**

Scroll down to the **Settings** card. These checkboxes control how the widget behaves and what customers see.

---

## **👀 Appearance and Looks**

* **Show unit price** → customers can see the price per single unit inside the offer
* **Show total price** → customers can see the total price of each tier
* **Hide header and footer lines** → hides the divider lines at the top and bottom of the widget for a cleaner look
* **Use custom text for Out of Stock** → shows your own message when the selected product is out of stock

ℹ️ Enabling **Use custom text for Out of Stock** reveals a text field where you can type your message (default: “Highlighted item(s) are out of stock”).

---

## **⚙️ Functionality**

* **Let customers choose different variants for each item** → if the product has variants (sizes, colors…), customers can pick a different variant for every unit in the tier
* **Display widget below add to cart button** → renders the widget directly below your Add to Cart button
* **Skip cart directly to checkout** → customers are redirected straight to checkout after adding a tier, skipping the cart page
* **Volume Discount (Extend Max Discount to All Quantities)** → lets customers buy **additional** items beyond the highest tier at the maximum discount rate
* **Show compare to price** → displays the compare-at (strikethrough) price inside the offer

ℹ️ Enabling **Show compare to price** reveals two extra fields:

* **Custom compare price** → override the compare price manually (leave blank or `0` to use the price from your Shopify product listing)
* **Shopify product compare price** → read-only, shows the compare price coming from your product listing

---

## **🔄 Enable Discount Combination**

These options let your Quantity Break discount combine with other discount types at checkout:

* **Order discounts**
* **Shipping discounts**

ℹ️ Product discount combination is always on. Also note that due to Shopify restrictions, this setting applies globally to all new Quantity Break offers.

---

## **🌍 Multiple Markets & Translation**

Below Settings you’ll also find:

* **Multiple Markets** → set market-specific pricing for the offer
* **Translation** → translate widget texts for your store’s additional languages

ℹ️ These are optional and not required to get your offer live — they’re covered in their own dedicated guides.

---

# **🎯 Step 6 — Targeting & Placement (Optional)**

Switch to the **Targeting & Placement** tab to control where the widget appears and who sees it.

---

## **📍 Placement**

* **Below Add to Cart Button (Default)** → the widget is placed automatically — recommended for most stores
* **Custom (only on product page)** → place the widget anywhere you like on the product page

If you choose **Custom**, the app gives you two things **after saving**:

* **Hoppy bundles ID** → use it to add/reposition the Hoppy Bundles app block in your theme editor
* **Hoppy bundles code snippet** → a small `<div>` you can paste anywhere in your theme code

ℹ️ Until the offer is saved once, you’ll see “Save to see Hoppy bundles ID and code snippet”.

---

## **👤 Customer Targeting & 🌍 Geolocation Targeting**

These optional sections let you:

* Show the offer only to **logged-in customers**
* Show or hide the offer based on **customer tags** or **lifetime spent**
* Limit the offer to **specific countries** (default: **All world**)

There’s also a **Scheduling** section to set a **start** and **end** date/time for the offer — handy for flash sales ⏰

ℹ️ All of these are optional. If you skip them, the offer simply shows to everyone, everywhere, right away. Advanced targeting is covered in detail in its own dedicated guide.

---

# **🎨 Design Tab (Optional)**

The **Design** tab controls the visual styling of the widget:

* **Typography & Colour** → font family, text sizes, weights, and colors for every element
* **Variant** → small / medium / large sizing for variant selectors
* **Border** → border width and corner radius sliders

💡 Every change reflects instantly in the live preview on the right — both in the **desktop** and **mobile** preview panels.

ℹ️ The defaults already look great out of the box, so this step is entirely optional. Styling is covered in depth in the dedicated design guide.

---

# **✅ Final Step — Save & Publish**

Once everything looks good in the preview:

1. Click **Save** in the save bar at the top of the page
2. Click **Publish** to make the offer live ⚠️ **Please note**:
* The **Publish** button is disabled while the offer is brand new — **save first**, then publish.
* Publishing creates an **automatic discount** in your **Shopify Admin → Discounts**. This is what actually applies the tier prices at checkout — please don’t delete or edit it manually.
* If the app embed is not enabled in your theme, a banner will appear after saving with an **Enable App Embed** shortcut button — click it, toggle the embed on, and save your theme.
* If publishing fails because another published offer already covers the same product or collection, convert that existing offer to a draft first, then publish again.

Your Quantity Break offer is now live 🚀

---

# **🎉 Final Result**

Once configured successfully:

✅ Customers see your quantity tiers directly on the product page ✅ Discounts apply automatically at checkout ✅ Tiers, tags, and labels update instantly from the app ✅ The widget matches your theme with the layout and colors you picked

Here’s how the finished widget looks on the storefront — clean tiers, clear savings, and one-click selection ✨
