That’s exactly what Discount Combinations are for.

By default, Shopify only allows one discount per class at checkout. With Discount Combinations, you can decide whether your Hoppy Bundles offer is allowed to stack with other discounts your customers might have.

🧠 What are Discount Combinations?

Shopify sorts every discount into one of three classes:

• 🏷️ Product discounts → discounts applied to specific products (this is the class your Hoppy Bundles offers use)
• 🛒 Order discounts → discounts applied to the entire order total (e.g. “10% OFF your whole order”)
• 🚚 Shipping discounts → discounts applied to shipping costs (e.g. “Free Shipping”)

A combination simply means: “Is my Hoppy Bundles discount allowed to apply at the same time as another discount from this class?”

💡 Your Hoppy Bundles offers are created as automatic product discounts. That means they always combine with other product discounts automatically — no setup needed for that class. For order and shipping discounts, you choose the behavior yourself with two simple checkboxes ✅

✅ Before You Begin

Before setting up combinations, make sure:

• You have an active offer created in Hoppy Bundles (Bundle, Quantity Break, Buy X Get Y, BYOB, or Product Add-ons) 💰
• The other discount you want to combine with already exists in Shopify Admin → Discounts (or you know how to create one)
• You know which class that other discount belongs to → product, order, or shipping 🏷️

📍 Where to Find the Setting

The Discount Combination setting is available on the edit page of every discount-based offer type:

• Bundle offers → open your bundle → General tab → scroll to the Combination Discounts section
• Quantity Break offers → open your offer → General tab → scroll to the Enable Discount Combination section
• Quantity Break (Different Products) offers → open your offer → Enable Discount Combination section
• Build Your Own Bundle (BYOB) offers → open your offer → Enable Discount Combination card
• Product Add-ons offers → open your add-on → General tab → scroll to the Combination Discounts section

ℹ️ The section name can be either Combination Discounts or Enable Discount Combination depending on the offer type — it’s the same setting either way.

🛠️ Step-by-Step — Enable Discount Combinations

Follow these steps to let your offer stack with other discounts:

1. Open Hoppy Bundles from your Shopify Admin.
2. Open the offer you want to edit (or create a new one).
3. Stay on the General tab and scroll down until you see the Combination Discounts / Enable Discount Combination section.
4. Tick the checkboxes for the discount classes you want to combine with:

5. Click Save to update your offer 💾

That’s it! Hoppy Bundles will update the automatic discount in Shopify with your chosen combination settings ⚙️

💡 You can find the discount Hoppy Bundles created in Shopify Admin → Discounts — its name starts with your offer name, so it’s easy to recognize.

☑️ What Each Checkbox Means

🛒 Order discounts

When enabled, your Hoppy Bundles discount can apply together with order-level discounts.

Example

• Your store runs a store-wide sale: “15% OFF your entire order”
• A customer buys a bundle with its own bundle discount

✅ With Order discounts enabled → the customer gets both the bundle discount and the 15% order discount.

❌ With it disabled → only one of the two discounts applies.

🚚 Shipping discounts

When enabled, your Hoppy Bundles discount can apply together with shipping discounts.

Example

• You offer a “Free Shipping” discount code to your email subscribers
• A customer uses the code while also buying a discounted bundle

✅ With Shipping discounts enabled → the customer gets the bundle discount and free shipping.

❌ With it disabled → Shopify will only apply one of them.

🏷️ Product discounts

There’s no checkbox for this one — and that’s on purpose!

Your Hoppy Bundles discount is a product-class discount and is always allowed to combine with other product discounts automatically. So if you run another product-level sale on the same items, both can apply together without any extra setup ✨

💡 Real-Life Setup Examples

Scenario 1 — Store-wide sale + Bundle discount 🛒

You’re running a Black Friday sale: “20% OFF everything” (an order discount), and you also want bundle buyers to keep their bundle savings.

→ Enable Order discounts ✅

Scenario 2 — Free shipping code + Quantity Break discount 🚚

You give loyal customers a “FREESHIP” code, and you don’t want it to cancel out your volume discounts.

→ Enable Shipping discounts ✅

Scenario 3 — Another product sale + Hoppy Bundles offer 🏷️

You already have a product discount on a collection in Shopify, and some of those products are also in your bundle.

→ Nothing to enable — product discounts combine automatically ✨

⚠️ Important Notes

🌍 This setting applies globally to new offers

Due to Shopify restrictions, the combination settings apply globally to all new offers — not just the single offer you’re editing. Keep this in mind when you toggle the checkboxes, as newly created offers will follow the same behavior.

🤝 Both discounts must allow combining

Enabling the checkbox in Hoppy Bundles is only half of the setup. Shopify requires both discounts to allow combining with each other’s class.

So for the other discount, go to:

Shopify Admin → Discounts → open the discount → Combinations

…and make sure it’s also set to combine with the right discount class (e.g. product discounts, so it can stack with your Hoppy Bundles offer).

⚠️ If the other discount doesn’t allow combinations on its side, the discounts still won’t stack — even if you enabled everything correctly in Hoppy Bundles.

💾 Changes apply after saving

Your combination choices are sent to Shopify when you save the offer. If you change the checkboxes, don’t forget to hit Save so the automatic discount gets updated 🔄

🎉 Final Result

Once everything is set up:

• Your Hoppy Bundles discount stacks with order and/or shipping discounts (based on your checkboxes) ✅
• It always combines with other product discounts automatically 🏷️
• Your customers see all eligible discounts applied together at cart and checkout 💰

This means no more customers forced to choose between your bundle deal and your store-wide sale — everyone gets the full savings, and you keep conversions high 📈
