Connecting Hoppy PopUps with Klaviyo allows you to automatically sync popup subscribers directly into your Klaviyo lists. Once connected, every email (and phone number, if collected) can flow directly into your selected Klaviyo list for campaigns, automations, and audience segmentation.

⚠️ Before You Begin

Before connecting Klaviyo with Hoppy PopUps, make sure:

• You have an active Klaviyo account
• The Hoppy PopUps app is already installed on your Shopify store

If you don't already have a Klaviyo account, you can create one during the connection process.

🛠️ Step 1 — Open the Integrations Section

Open the Hoppy PopUps app from your Shopify Admin.

Then:

→ Click the Integrations tab from the left-side navigation menu

Locate the Klaviyo Integration card.

If not connected yet, the card will display:

→ Not Connected

🔗 Step 2 — Connect with Klaviyo

Inside the Klaviyo Integration card:

→ Click Connect with Klaviyo

You will be redirected to Klaviyo's authorization page.

👤 Step 3 — Log in to Klaviyo

If prompted:

→ Log in to your existing Klaviyo account

Or:

→ Create a new Klaviyo account

If you are already logged in to Klaviyo, you may be taken directly to the authorization screen.

⚠️ Step 4 — Review App Authorization Notice

During the authorization process, Klaviyo may display a screen showing:

App has not been reviewed

This appears because Klaviyo has not yet reviewed the app within their marketplace review process.

⚠️ Important:

This message is expected and does not prevent the integration from working.

To continue:

→ Click Continue

✅ Step 5 — Allow Account Access

A new authorization screen will appear displaying:

Allow Hoppy PopUps to access your account's information

Review the requested permissions.

Then:

→ Click Allow

This grants Hoppy PopUps permission to communicate with your Klaviyo account.

🎉 Step 6 — Verify Connection

After authorization is completed:

→ You will be redirected back to Hoppy PopUps

The Klaviyo Integration status should now display:

→ ✅ Connected

📋 Step 7 — Select a Klaviyo List

Once connected:

→ Return to the Integrations section

You can now choose where new popup subscribers should be stored.

Available Options

Create New List

Choose this option if you want Hoppy PopUps to create a brand-new Klaviyo list.

Then:

→ Enter a name for the new list

Use Existing List

Choose this option if you already have a list inside Klaviyo.

Then:

→ Select the desired list from the dropdown menu

Examples:

• Newsletter Subscribers
• Welcome Series
• VIP Customers
• Promotional Campaigns

💾 Step 8 — Save the Integration

After selecting your preferred list:

→ Click Save

The integration is now ready to receive subscriber data.

⚠️ Important:

Make sure a list is selected before saving. Subscribers cannot be synced if no destination list is configured.

📤 Step 9 — Sync Previous Emails (Optional)

If you collected subscribers before connecting Klaviyo:

→ Click Sync Previous Emails

This will push previously collected subscriber data into the selected Klaviyo list.

💡 This is useful when setting up the integration after your popups have already been collecting leads.

🧪 Step 10 — Test the Integration

To verify the connection is working:

→ Open your storefront in an Incognito or Private browser window

→ Trigger a popup and submit a test email address

Then:

→ Log in to Klaviyo

→ Open the selected list

→ Verify the test subscriber appears successfully

⚠️ Common Troubleshooting

Klaviyo Not Connecting

If the connection process fails:

→ Verify that you successfully clicked Allow during authorization

→ Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration

→ Verify that your Klaviyo account is active

Subscribers Not Appearing in Klaviyo

If new subscribers are not appearing:

→ Verify a Klaviyo list has been selected

→ Verify the integration status shows Connected

→ Verify the popup is published and actively collecting submissions

→ Try using Sync Previous Emails to confirm synchronization is working

Wrong List Receiving Subscribers

If subscribers are being added to the wrong list:

→ Return to the Integrations section

→ Select the correct list

→ Click Save again
