🚀 Standard Shipping How to Set Cut-off Time and Number of Days Shown to Customers

Two small settings in the Slot Availability Conditions card make a big difference for shipping:

  • ⏰ Cut off time for orders — stops customers from booking a slot you no longer have time to fulfill
  • đŸ—“ī¸ Number of days slots are shown to customer — controls how far ahead customers can plan their shipping date

Let's set both up âš™ī¸

📋 Before You Begin

Make sure:

  • ✅ Standard Shipping is turned on in Settings → Standard Shipping
  • ✅ The Enable slots (Optional) checkbox is ticked, so the Slot Availability Conditions card is visible

âš™ī¸ Step 1 — Open Slot Availability Conditions

→ Go to Settings → Standard Shipping

→ Scroll to the Slot Availability Conditions card

At the top you'll see two options: Simple and Advanced.

â„šī¸ This guide uses Simple mode, which is the default. The Advanced mode (preparation days + working hours) is covered in Standard Shipping: How to Set Up Simple vs Advanced Slot Availability Conditions.

⏰ Step 2 — Set the Cut-off Time

With Simple selected, the Cut off time for orders dropdown appears.

→ Pick the time of day after which new orders should no longer count toward the earliest available slot.

The default is 6:00 PM, and times are available in 15-minute steps.

Example

You set the cut-off to 2:00 PM:

  • A customer orders at 1:30 PM → they can still book the earliest available shipping day
  • A customer orders at 4:00 PM (after the cut-off) → it's treated as if the order came in the next day, so the earliest options shift forward

💡 Match the cut-off to your real dispatch routine — for example, the time your courier collects parcels each afternoon. That way no one books a slot you can't actually make 🚚

đŸ—“ī¸ Step 3 — Set How Many Days Are Shown

Still in the same card, find the Number of days slots are shown to customer field.

→ Enter how many upcoming days customers can pick from in the calendar.

  • The default for Standard Shipping is 30 days
  • Lower it (e.g. 7) if you only want to take bookings one week ahead
  • Raise it (e.g. 60) if customers often plan far in advance, like for gifts or seasonal orders 🎁

Example

With 14 entered, a customer browsing today sees shipping slots for roughly the next two weeks — nothing beyond that.

💾 Step 4 — Save Your Changes

→ Click Save in the save bar at the bottom of the page.

🎉 Final Result

Once saved:

  • ✅ Orders placed after your cut-off time automatically roll over to the next available day
  • ✅ Customers only see shipping dates within your Number of days slots are shown to customer window
  • ✅ No more last-minute bookings you can't fulfill 🎉
