Some products are just harder to deliver — fragile items, oversized gear, or things that need special handling. 🧊

The Delivery Rates By Product rule lets you charge a specific delivery rate based on the SKUs in the customer’s cart.

📋 Before You Begin

• ✅ You’ve created a delivery zone — see How to Setup Delivery Rates and Zones?
• ✅ Your products have SKUs set in Shopify
• ✅ You know which SKUs need a special rate

ℹ️ Product rules live in the Advanced Rates section of the zone form, alongside time and day rules.

⚙️ Step 1 — Open the Product Rule Popup

→ Go to Rates → Edit your zone → scroll to Advanced Rates → under Delivery Rates By Product, click Add Rate By Product.

⚙️ Step 2 — Fill in the Rule

Start with the shared fields:

• Delivery Rate Name → appears on the checkout page along with the charges (e.g. Fragile Item Delivery)
• Delivery Rate Description → appears on the checkout page along with the name
• Delivery Rate → the amount to charge (set 0 for free delivery)

Then configure the product conditions:

🔀 SKU Condition

Choose how strictly the SKUs must match:

• ANY product must satisfy this condition → the rate applies if at least one product in the cart matches
• ALL products must satisfy this condition → the rate applies only if every product in the cart matches

🔢 SKU

Enter the SKUs the rule should look for:

• Separate multiple SKUs with commas → 1234, 6789
• Use * for wildcard matches → FRAG-* covers every SKU starting with FRAG-

⚠️ The SKU field is required.

Example

• SKU Condition → ANY product must satisfy this condition
• SKU → FRAG-*
• Delivery Rate → ₹150

Any cart containing a fragile item gets the ₹150 special-handling rate.

→ Click Add, then Add Zone / Update Zone, then Save in the save bar.

ℹ️ Good to Know

• ℹ️ Product rules are checked after price and weight rules in the same zone.
• 💡 Use the * wildcard to cover whole product families with one entry instead of typing every SKU.

🎉 Final Result

Once saved:

✅ Carts with matching SKUs get the special delivery rate
✅ You can require one matching product — or a cart full of them
✅ Wildcards keep long SKU lists short and manageable
