πŸš€ Location How to Create and Manage a Location

Locations are the heart of Hoppy Delivery Dates πŸ“

Each location represents one of your stores, warehouses, or pickup points β€” and carries its own time slots, prep time, blackout dates, and product overrides.

This means you can offer different delivery and pickup schedules per branch, all from one place ✨

In this guide, you'll learn how to:

  • βž• Create a new location
  • ✏️ Edit a location
  • 🟒 Enable / Disable a location
  • πŸ—‘οΈ Delete a location

πŸ“‹ Before You Begin

  • Hoppy Delivery Dates is installed and the app embed is enabled in your theme
  • You know how many locations (branches / pickup points) you want to offer
  • You have the address details handy for each location

βš™οΈ Step 1 β€” Open the Locations List

Open the Hoppy Delivery Dates app.

Then:

β†’ Go to Settings β†’ Select the Delivery & Pickup tab in the left menu

You'll see the Your Locations card β€” this is where all your locations live.

ℹ️ The note under the heading says it all: "Manage your timeslots, prep time, blockouts, & overrides inside locations."

If you haven't created any locations yet, you'll see:

No locations found. Create one to get started.

βž• Step 2 β€” Create a New Location

β†’ Click the Create location button at the top right of the Your Locations card.

A new location is added and the location editor opens automatically, ready for you to configure it.

What a new location starts with

Every new location comes with sensible defaults so you're never starting from a blank page:

  • πŸ“ Name: New Location (rename it right away)
  • 🟒 Status: Active
  • 🌏 Country: India
  • 🚚 Both Local Delivery and Store Pickup (Takeaway) enabled
  • ⏰ Slot type: Date & Time Range
  • πŸ—“οΈ Default slots every day (Mon–Sun): 9:00–10:00 AM, 10:00–11:00 AM, 11:00 AM–12:00 PM
  • πŸ“† Slots shown 5 days ahead to customers
  • πŸ›οΈ Store Pickup set to Same as Local Delivery

πŸ’‘ These defaults are just a starting point β€” adjust everything to match how each branch actually operates.

✏️ Step 3 β€” Edit a Location

Each location in the list shows:

  • An Active (green) or Inactive (red) badge
  • The location name

β†’ Click Edit on any location to open its editor.

Inside the editor, settings are organized into tabs on the left:

  • Location setup β†’ status, name & address (see Location: How to Set Up Address and Availability Status)
  • Fulfillment type β†’ delivery/pickup methods, minimum order value & zip codes (see Location: How to Configure Fulfillment Type)
  • Time slots & limits β†’ slot types, per-day slots & order limits (see Location: How to Set Time Slots and Order Limits)
  • Prep time & availability β†’ cut off time, prep days & visibility window (see Location: How to Set Prep Time and Availability)
  • Block dates & times β†’ blackout slots (see Location: How to Block Specific Dates and Times)
  • Product-based overrides β†’ product-specific rules (see Location: How to Set Product-Based Overrides)

β†’ Use the back arrow at the top left to return to the locations list at any time.

🟒 Step 4 β€” Enable or Disable a Location

You don't need to open the editor to switch a location on or off.

β†’ In the Your Locations list, click Disable (or Enable) next to the location.

The badge updates immediately to Active or Inactive.

⚠️ Customers will only see locations that are enabled. Disabling a location hides it from the date picker without deleting its settings β€” perfect for temporary closures.

πŸ—‘οΈ Step 5 β€” Delete a Location

To remove a location completely:

β†’ Click Delete next to the location in the list β€” or β€” β†’ Open the location and click the red Delete button at the top right of the editor.

⚠️ Deleting is permanent. If you only need to hide a location temporarily, use Disable instead.

πŸ’Ύ Final Step β€” Save Your Changes

Changes to locations are not applied until you save.

β†’ Click Save in the save bar at the top of the page (it appears whenever you have unsaved changes).

πŸŽ‰ Final Result

Once saved:

βœ… Your locations appear in the Your Locations list with their Active/Inactive status βœ… Enabled locations are shown to customers in the date picker βœ… Each location runs on its own schedule, limits, and rules βœ… You can edit, pause, or remove any location in a couple of clicks
