Sometimes you deliver to a whole area — except a few zip codes. Maybe a couple of pin codes are too far out, or a carrier doesn’t service them. 📍

Instead of listing every zip code you do cover, Hoppy Delivery Dates lets you exclude the handful you don’t with the Zip Codes to Exclude (Optional) field.

📋 Before You Begin

• ✅ You’ve already created (or are creating) a delivery zone — see How to Setup Delivery Rates and Zones?
• ✅ Your zone uses Select based on zip codes with partial or wildcard entries (exclusions are most useful here)

⚙️ Step 1 — Open the Zone

Open the Hoppy Delivery Dates app.

→ Go to Rates → click Edit on the zone you want to adjust (or Add delivery zone for a new one).

✂️ Step 2 — Add Excluded Zip Codes

In the zone form, find the Zip Codes to Exclude (Optional) field — it sits right below the Zip Codes field.

Enter the zip codes you want to leave out, separated by commas:

• 10004, 10005

Example

• Zip Codes → 100* (covers everything starting with 100)
• Zip Codes to Exclude (Optional) → 10004, 10005

Result: a customer at 10001 gets the zone’s rates ✅ — a customer at 10004 does not ❌

→ Click Add Zone / Update Zone, then Save in the save bar.

⚠️ How Exclusions Interact with Matching

A few things worth knowing:

• ⚠️ Excluded zip codes are matched exactly. If you exclude 10004, a customer at 100041 is not excluded — write out the full zip code you want to block.
• ℹ️ Exclusions are checked after the zone matches. So the customer’s zip must first match your Zip Codes entries (following your Zip code matching setting — Partial or Exact), and only then do exclusions remove them.
• 💡 If an excluded customer has no other matching zone, they’ll fall back to your fallback zone (if one exists) — see Setting a Fallback Delivery Zone. Otherwise they won’t see a delivery rate from the app.

🎉 Final Result

Once saved:

✅ The zone covers your whole delivery area with a short zip list
✅ Specific zip codes inside that area are cleanly carved out
✅ Excluded customers no longer see this zone’s rates at checkout

A small field, but it keeps your zone setup short and tidy ✨
