πŸ’° How to Set Delivery Rates by Price

Want to charge less for delivery when customers spend more β€” or offer free delivery above a certain order value? πŸ›’

The Delivery Rates By Price rule lets you set a delivery charge based on the order total. It’s perfect for setups like β€œβ‚Ή50 delivery under β‚Ή500, free delivery above β‚Ή500”.

πŸ“‹ Before You Begin

  • βœ… You’ve created a delivery zone β€” see How to Setup Delivery Rates and Zones?
  • βœ… You know the order-value ranges you want to charge for

βš™οΈ Step 1 β€” Open the Rate Rule Popup

Open the Hoppy Delivery Dates app.

β†’ Go to Rates β†’ Edit your zone β†’ under Delivery Rates By Price, click Add Rate By Price.

🏷️ Step 2 β€” Name and Price the Rate

Fill in the shared rate fields at the top of the popup:

  • Delivery Rate Name β†’ appears on the checkout page along with the charges (e.g. Standard Delivery)
  • Delivery Rate Description β†’ appears on the checkout page along with the name (e.g. Delivered within 2–3 days)
  • Delivery Rate β†’ the amount to charge. Set it to 0 for free delivery 🎁

⚠️ All three fields are required.

πŸ’‘ Customers see the name and description at checkout, so write them like shipping option labels β€” clear and friendly.

πŸ’΅ Step 3 β€” Set the Order Value Range

Now define when this rate applies:

  • Minimum Order Value β†’ the lowest order total this rate applies to (e.g. 100)
  • Maximum Order Value β†’ the highest order total this rate applies to (e.g. 999)

⚠️ Both fields are required β€” use a very high maximum (e.g. 999999) if there’s no upper limit.

Example Setup

  • Rate 1 β†’ β‚Ή50 for orders from 0 to 499
  • Rate 2 β†’ β‚Ή0 (free delivery πŸŽ‰) for orders from 500 to 999999

β†’ Click Add to save the rule, then Add Zone / Update Zone, then Save in the save bar.

ℹ️ Good to Know

  • ℹ️ You can add multiple price rules to one zone β€” the first rule whose range contains the order total is used.
  • ℹ️ Price rules are checked before weight, product, time, day, and multi condition rules in the same zone.
  • πŸ’‘ If several rates match at checkout, the Multiple Rates at Checkout setting on the Rates page decides whether customers see all, the highest, or the lowest β€” see How to Setup Delivery Rates and Zones?.

πŸŽ‰ Final Result

Once saved:

βœ… Customers in the zone see a delivery rate based on their order total
βœ… Bigger orders can unlock cheaper β€” or free β€” delivery
βœ… The rate name and description show up clearly at checkout
