🚀 Standard Shipping How to Set Up Simple vs Advanced Slot Availability Conditions

Not every store works the same hours — and your shipping slots shouldn't pretend otherwise 🕐

The Slot Availability Conditions card in the Standard Shipping tab comes in two flavors:

  • Simple — one cut-off time, done
  • 🛠️ Advanced — tell the app exactly which days you prepare orders and your working hours

This guide explains both modes and helps you pick the right one.

📋 Before You Begin

Make sure:

  • Standard Shipping is turned on in Settings → Standard Shipping
  • ✅ The Enable slots (Optional) checkbox is ticked, so the Slot Availability Conditions card is visible

→ Find the card under SettingsStandard ShippingSlot Availability Conditions

⚡ Simple Mode — Just a Cut-off TimeSimple is the default mode and keeps things minimal: you get a single Cut off time for orders dropdown.

The cut-off time decides when "today" ends for ordering purposes:

  • Orders placed before the cut-off → can book the earliest available slots
  • Orders placed after the cut-off → treated as next-day orders, so the earliest slots shift forward

Best for

  • Stores with a steady daily routine
  • Merchants who just want to stop same-day bookings after a certain hour

💡 A full walkthrough of the cut-off setting lives in Standard Shipping: How to Set Cut-off Time and Number of Days Shown to Customers.

🛠️ Advanced Mode — Preparation Days & Working Hours

→ Select the Advanced radio button.

Three new settings appear:

📅 Select order preparation days

A multi-select list of weekdays (MondaySunday). Tick the days your team actually prepares and packs orders.

  • Only these weekdays count as working days when the app calculates availability
  • By default, all seven days are selected
  • Closed on weekends? Untick Saturday and Sunday so they don't count

🕘 Work Starts At

The time your working day begins (default 9:00 AM).

🕕 Work Ends At

The time your working day ends (default 6:00 PM).

Together, these describe your real schedule, so the app only offers slots that fit within the days and hours you actually work — no more bookings landing on your day off 🙌

Best for

  • Stores that don't operate 7 days a week
  • Merchants with fixed packing/shipping hours who want availability to match reality

⚖️ Which Mode Should You Choose?

  • Choose Simple if you ship every day (or close enough) and just need a daily order cut-off
  • Choose Advanced if your prep days or working hours vary — e.g. you don't pack orders on Sundays, or you stop at 3 PM on Fridays

⚠️ Switching modes changes which fields are shown: Simple hides the preparation days and working hours, while Advanced hides the cut-off time. Your other slot settings aren't affected.

💾 Save Your Changes

→ Pick your mode, fill in the fields, then click Save in the save bar at the bottom of the page.

🎉 Final Result

Once saved:

  • ✅ With Simple, orders after the cut-off roll to the next available day
  • ✅ With Advanced, customers only see slots that match your preparation days and working hours
  • ✅ Your storefront calendar reflects how your store actually runs 🎉
